Computer Classes
Juniper Ridge Computer Club members may participate in a wide variety of computer classes designed for either the 'True Beginner', the 'Novice', the 'Intermediate' user, and the 'Advanced' user. As class sizes are limited, sign-up is required - there are Sign-up Sheets in the Computer Lab for classes to be held the following week. A schedule of this month's Programs (classes and SIG meetings) can be viewed on the bulletin board outside the Lab door.
Computer Fundamentals, for the 'True Beginner' and Novice computer user, is a Series of four classes is conducted over about one month. These classes are generally scheduled for Thursday afternoons, beginning a 3:30. View the course outline for each class in the Series here. The Series includes:
- Introduction to Computers
- Mouse & Touch Pad Skills
- Using the Internet
- Using Email
Intermediate Computer Basics, for the computer user who needs a little help on some of the basics, will include:
- Using the Internet
- Options for Email
- Copy, Cut, Paste methods and alternatives
- File Organization
- Review and Q&A
Maintaining a Clean Computer will include:
- Avoiding Malware (viruses, trojan horses, spyware)
- Speeding up Your Computer (defrag, startup, etc.)
- Deleting Old Files
- Deleting Cookies
